View Full Version : Shared Logic - Reference Maps

I find one of the most time consuming things is creating the damn logic over and over and over again. I think there should be "community" maps that have pre-built logic systems, so people could download and just start making the actual map. I think this would be useful, but do you think it's a useful endeavor?

I have logic systems for a Gears of War horde mode wave system (1-50) released already, and someone just needs to download the map and place the trigger in whatever room they want the event to occur. They can also fiddle with the spawners and everything if they want.

That's a good idea. Hopefully as the community grows we can organized shared logic game modes like that. Likely forming a collective list with the map ids to their respective game modes. I know there is someone on SnapMap Hub who made the game mode for Counter Strike - bomb defusal.

Hey.. I have downloaded 5 maps and I have put them in the hl2wars_beta folder but they are not working.. What schall I do

hi all I am new to the community and saw some of the custom maps but after i downloaded them i moved everything maps files in maps,resource files in other maps folder wich is in resource and the overviews wich is in materials and it still wont see the maps at missions can anybody help me ?

PS. the maps i downloaded where wmp_thebrige and wmp_outland v0.2 release

Try to pick some maps that everyone knows, not those that one particular side will have an advantage on.

out of all them maps, id choose 3, have only polayed 6, and never heard of a few

There are plenty of custom maps in Africa. Anyone can always volunteer to polish them up and try to get them released in the CMP.

Its not a terrible idea. The problem is this:

-Extra Work, thats maybe unncesary
- Who knows where this game, or Organized play will be
- We need to create a demand for the maps, or there wont be any reason to keep making new ones, rotating the maps may advesely effect that.

Im unsure, but ill check to see if there is an equivalent for android, although didnt they say like 5 years ago that it was almost ready for android? Is it still not ready?

lets you play cards from other peoples decks.

If your commander is, , and you have a exiled face down with , can you cast the bolt if you played a mountain using Shared Fate?

No. The EDH rules explicitly say that you cannot generate mana outside of your color identity. is one of those cards that people can use to troll you. is another.

Sid is right, except that only effects you so you cant really troll other people with it. Although is pretty amazing with since it would actually let you cast that .

Ill be honest, and I dont mean this to sound smug, I just cant think of any one of our maps I wouldnt put on the Standard list. noe of them suck so bad you cant have a decent game, at their worst theyll be dull games, but balanced games.

For me, Theed is a no-doubt-about-it yes. Its definitely one of my favorite maps to play on.

I dont have super-strong opinions one way or the other about the other maps. I havent played Star Forge before, but it looks like it could make for a great game its also a really cool-looking map--those pits have way more of a Star Wars feel than any other attempt Ive seen to make pits on a map.

So those are my votes.

the safety is the part I dont like. Im going to dig through some books for a few days before pushing it to see if I can find something else that will do the trick and make more sense.

The video should assume the frame rate of maya. If not, you could bring it into a video editing program and try an export it to 24fps to see if that solves the problem for you. That would be the only way I can think of at this time, if something comes to me, ill chime in here in a bit.
